South Nation Conservation Declares a Level I Low Water Advisory

Conditions across the South Nation Conservation jurisdiction have reached the Level I Low Water threshold under Ontario’s Low Water Response Program. This is the first sign that water supply could become a concern. Level 1 results in a request for a voluntary 10 per cent reduction in water use by all water users.

Township of Alfred and Plantagenet 2025 Charity Golf Tournament

The annual Alfred and Plantagenet Township Golf Tournament will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025, at the Nation Golf Club in Curran, Shotgun starts at 9:00 a.m. A breakfast breakfast will be served from 7:00 a.m. to 8:45 a.m.

All of the funds raised will be used to support local community youth organizations. In 2024, we raised over $5000 to support the community.

Tickets costs $150 per golfer, sponsorship options are available for individuals and businesses who would like to support the event.

SNC advises that a Flood Watch Statement is being issued in anticipation of freezing rain, rainfall, and snow melt next week.

Weather Forecast: Environment Canada is forecasting up to 15 cm of snow Saturday, turning into ice pellets and freezing rain Sunday. FLOOD WATCH

March 14th, 2025

SNC advises that the Flood Outlook Statement issued on March 10th has been upgraded to a Flood Watch.

Weather Forecast: Environment Canada is forecasting warmer temperatures beginning Friday afternoon with a high of 7°C, followed by a daytime high of 16°C over the weekend in addition to 10-15 mm of rain forecasted on Sunday afternoon into Monday.  

Environmental Conditions: Rainfall and snow melt will lead to increased water levels and flows in local streams and rivers.
