The year 2024 brings certain changes to the waste collection system.
Firstly, we would like to remind you that the Township no longer ensures the collection of residential recyclable materials. Since October 1, 2023, this service has been managed by the non-profit organization Circular Materials. The local contractor providing this collection, Cool Containers, is responsible for responding to any questions and comments regarding residential recycling collection.

On December 18, the council of the Township of Alfred and Plantagenet adopted its budget for 2024. The budget, of just over $17.5 million, includes a 3.8% increase in property taxes, which translates into an average increase of approximately $55 per residence in 2024. The budget also includes a $4.2 million investment in capital projects, including the rehabilitation of 7 roads.
