The Township of Alfred and Plantagenet's team of lifeguards are offering a variety of swimming lessons this summer.

Registration for swimming lessons will take place in person at the Alfred and Plantagenet Town Hall on June 1 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and on weekdays until June 14, 2024, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. You can pay for the lessons via debit (preferred), cash, or cheque. 

A lifeguard will also be on hand to take registrations at Town Hall between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., from Monday, June 3 to Wednesday, June 5. It will still be possible to register, while places remain available, in person at the Town Hall until the official opening, and directly at the pools thereafter.

The lessons are for individuals who will be 3 years of age or older before the begining of the swimming lessons. Upon your arrival for registration, we will guide you to the best age group for you or your child.

Aquazumba Lessons

It is possible to attend the Aquazumba class on a daily basis, or to register for one of the pools for the season. (Places are limited) The time slots for the classes are as follows:

Alfred

From June 24 to August 23, on:

  • Monday at 7 p.m. 
  • Wednesday at 10 a.m. 
  • Thursday at 7 p.m.

Plantagenet

From June 24 to August 23, on:

  • Monday at 7 p.m.
  • Wednesday at 7 p.m.
  • Thursday 10 a.m.

Group Lessons

Group lessons will take place between 8:30 a.m. to 12:25 p.m. and will last between 30 and 45 minutes the week of:

Alfred

  • July 8 to July 19.

Plantagenet

  • June 24 to July 5.
  • July 22 to August 2.

The exact time will be communicated by the instructor the week prior to the start of the group lessons.

 Semi-private Lessons

Semi-private swimming lessons will take place in half-hour blocks, between June 24 to August 17. During registration, you will be given the time and location of the pool (in Alfred or Plantagenet).

Alfred

  • Tuesday from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Plantagenet

  • Monday from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Wednesday from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
