The Township of Alfred and Plantagenet Fire Department provides fire-rescue services to its residents from stations located in the villages of Alfred, Plantagenet, Lefaivre and Wendover. These fire services are further supported by mutual aid agreements with adjacent municipalities. The Fire Department also provides assistance to the land ambulance service of the United Counties of Prescott and Russell.

There is currently no fire ban in effect.
The Township's Fire Department as near 60 volunteer fire fighters. We also have a Fire Chief to oversee the management of the four fire stations. An open call for volunteer fire fighters is made annually between November and January of the following year.
The Township utilizes a fire prevention officer to oversee the Fire Department's fire-prevention program and provide information to the public about fire safety and prevention. For more information on the fire prevention program or having the fire prevention officer attend an event for educational purposes, please contact the Town Hall or the Fire Chief.
Every year, the Township of Alfred and Plantagenet conducted a water transportation drill. As a result, the Fire Department is certified to deliver Superior Tanker Shuttle Service.
This accreditation offers residents of rural areas who do not have a fire hydrant nearby, a reduction on their residential insurance premium. Contact your broker to apply this deduction and to learn more.
