Using the rink when it is closed damages the surface and delays reopening. Please note that the opening dates of the skating rinks depend on weather conditions and are subject to change.

Skating Rink Schedule

Free skating (no hockey)

  • Monday to Friday: 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Saturday and Sunday: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Skate Shack Schedule

The skate shacks will be open every day from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

  • The lights will be on 7 days a week from 4:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. unless inclement weather conditions arise over long periods of time.
  • The maintenance of the rinks will generally be between 9:00 p.m. and noon, depending on the weather. Users will possibly be asked to vacate the ice to complete maintenance.

Holiday season:

  • December 24: 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
  • December 25: CLOSED
  • December 26: 1 p.m. to 9 p.m.
  • December 31st: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • January 1st: CLOSED
  • January 2nd: 1 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Skating Rink and Skating Shack Rules

Activities that are not permitted at outdoor rinks:

These activities could result in you being asked to leave the facility.

  • Smoking, vaping or loitering on the ice or near the facility.
  • Access the rinks between 9 p.m. and 10 a.m. Selling or distributing products or services anywhere in the park, unless authorized by the Township.
  • Using foul language or engaging in harmful or disrespectful behaviour.
  • Using alcohol or drugs.
  • Bringing food or drinks on the ice.
  • Rough play, speed and figure skating, and multiplayer games (such as tag and races).
  • Carrying children on the ice (including baby carriers).

Ensure a safe and pleasant skating experience:

  • Follow the capacity limits posted on-site and do not go on the ice when the rink is at capacity.
  • Follow all direction from rink attendants and Parks and recreation staff.
  • Respect the posted schedule.
  • It is highly recommended that all skaters wear a CSA-approved helmet while on the ice.
  • Stay off the rink during inclement or mild weather.
  • Children seven years and under must be actively supervised by a responsible person 14 years or older.

Wheelchairs, strollers and skating aids:

  • Only E-Z gliders are permitted as an aid.
  • Babies must be secured in their strollers.
  • CSA-approved helmets are required for people in wheelchairs and strollers.
  • Clean sand and salt off wheels before getting on the ice.

  • Please note that it is strictly forbidden to enter the ice surface if signs indicate it is closed, whether it be on skates or in boots. This is to ensure the safety of all users and preserve the quality of ice for the longevity of the season. Please respect these instructions.
