Dear citizens,
On Tuesday evening, the Township Council adopted the 2022 budget for the Township of Alfred and Plantagenet, which includes a 2.5% increase in property taxes. This represents an average increase of approximately $33.86 per residence.
Among the highlights of the budget, council allocated $4,039,770 for capital projects. This will allow for the repair of 11 municipal roads, the purchase of essential equipment for the protection of the population for the fire and public works departments, the improvement of our parks and recreation facilities, the improvement of the municipal dump, as well as the modernization of our municipal services. Full details of the 2022 budget are available upon request to our Treasurer at acharlebois@alfred-plantagenet.com
I would like to thank the members of Council and Administration for the productive conversations, the high level of collaboration and, most importantly, for listening to the citizens in the development of the 2022 budget priorities.
I would also like to acknowledge the work of our essential employees who will ensure the continuity of municipal services regardless of what the future holds. Finally, I would like to acknowledge the tireless work of all those in the region who work in the healthcare industry, without respite and often under difficult conditions. On behalf of the people of Alfred and Plantagenet, I would like to thank you all.
Finally, I would like to wish you and your loved ones all the best during this holiday season.
Stéphane Sarrazin
Mayor,
Township of Alfred and Plantagenet
