Have you ever noticed the Acier Duval Steel Company (ADS) located up the hill on County Road 17?
This company was established more than 30 years ago in the United Counties of Prescott Russell and has been in the Township of Alfred and Plantagenet since 2007. The company specializes in custom-made stainless steel, aluminum, and steel parts, all of which are made on site (without intermediaries) using state-of-the-art equipment. Acier Duval Steel Company is the # 1 company in Canada in the manufacture of storage cabinets for propane cylinders which can be found across Canada.
The owners Nathalie and Jacques Duval began their life as entrepreneurs by creating the company JD Welding in 1990. At the time, Nathalie and Jacques were only offering welding services to the people of the community. 9 years later, they started manufacturing aluminum and stainless-steel products. Since then, the company has created a business division and acquired various equipment for the manufacturing of parts of all kinds and sizes. Félip and Gabriel, their sons, are now part of the team and will ensure an innovative future for the company.
In January 2022 the company has acquired a Fiber Laser, which will allow for more efficient cutting of all metals (steel, stainless steel, galvanized steel, aluminum). This will be in addition to their Waterjet cutting table and their High Definition Plasma table (all 5 ft x 10 ft), the press brakes, rollers, shears, punch presses and many other equipment for the production of various parts.
The company believes in the importance of nurturing the community and local businesses and that is why they continue to operate from within the Township of Alfred and Plantagenet. The company offers services to industrial, government, and commercial companies, as well as contractors.
